Hello blogging world. I know that some who read this may think big deal! I could not agree with them more. I am not here to say that I know it all nor do I think I have all the answers. My goal for this is simple. I want to write what is on my heart and mind. So, here we go.
Why Finding Mayberry? Well, I love the Andy Griffith show. I have started collecting the seasons on DVD and I love to collect books, pictures, as well other assorted items. I have such great memories of watching the show with my dad. He could literally quote lines from every episode. I remember one day him saying that if First Baptist Mayberry ever came open, he was putting in his resume. My dad was, and still is, a Baptist pastor. I remember watching one day a few months back and as an adult, I think I caught on to something I had not thought of before, something my dad alluded to way back when. For us folks that like the Andy Griffith Show, Mayberry represents that perfect place. A place where the stress of life seem to be non exisitent. A place where we could go and have great relationships with people like Barney, the darlings, or other countless folks. Yes, I think Mayberry is a place many would love to find.
Whether people admit it or not, we are all looking for that safe place where we can find significance. A place that gives us security and hope. I believe that as good as Mayberry seems to be, there is somewhere that is far better. The funny thing is though, this desire we have is not fulfilled ina place but in a person. It may be said best by a man who demonstrated this truth: “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Amazing words written by an ordinary man written in a Roman prison to people just like us. Christ is the person that gives meaning and hope in life. All of life is empty apart from Christ. To Know Christ is to discover joy, security, peace, and hope in a world searching desperately to find it.

I love Mayberry too. I think it has something to do with watching it with my brother and dad, who by the way can quote every line. I am very proud of my broher wrote this blog and I love him. He is a great guy who wants to live his life for Christ. Here’s to Mayberry!

Danny
I haven’t talked to you, or much of anyone for a long time now. I am happy to say that, I believe, your blog is off to a great start. I am looking forward to see what it has to offer the world, and more importantly, yourself. I hope things are going well with you. I would assume so.
Danny, I also wanted to say thank you. We haven’t talked TOO much, but you have taught me a lot … mostly in an indirect manner, but a lot nevertheless. I am so blessed to have known you and had you as a teacher for the time I did. I hope have and are blessing the lives of hundreds of others in the world that are in need. Again, Thank you.

Mayberry brings back the best memories of my childhood . Watching it with my dad and brother, who can quote every line. My brother’s ringtone on my phone is the theme song. Mayberry was and still is a place we go to forget about the world and laugh. I would love to live in that place but Heaven will be so much better.
