A Hollow Ring

October 1, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Well, it has been a few days since I have beenĀ  able to write, so I wanted to begin by relating a few thoughts on the past week.

1.) The Democratic debate: I watched as the candidates answered questions and kept getting the “I did this and I have done that….” I don’t know but I keep asking myself, about both parties, is this the best we have? Well, I want to get to the point, when asked about their favorite Bible VersesĀ some answered with pat answers such as the golden rule (Hillary) while many answered with the Sermon on the mount. They were appealing to its “ethic.” Funny thing, in context as a whole, the sermon served to remind people of their utter lostness and that mere religion would not do. I was reminded of Pascal’s words that said those who do not posess the divine do not understand the nature or things of the divine.

2.) OJ: Who cares!!!! Men are fighting a war and this is what we get. People are serving homeless and orphans and this is what we get. AHHH!!!!!

3.) The Mets: They blow a huge lead and they sit at home for the playoffs. I am a Braves fan so HA HA HA!

4.) Upset Saturday (NCAA): If the polls would be more correct, there would not have been so many upsets. Ditch the polls and set up a playoff!

OK, I feel better now. I will write more this week and I look forward to your comments! Wait, does anyone read this? I wonder…
